BASAS has been awarded a contract by the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) to manage the Inadmissible facility at Johannesburg International Airport on its behalf. The service is rendered to the airlines when the Department of Home Affairs refuses admission, or refuses onward carriage by a state at a point of transfer, to a passenger due to various reasons. The facility is managed on the IATA and Control Authorities working group (CAWG) recommendations pertaining to inadmissible persons and escorts.

The facility has been constructed and designed to meet international standards and is designed to hold both male and female persons separately with comfortable beds and ablution facilities. Although the facility is designed for quick turn around times (persons leaving on the same flight they came in with) the facility caters for overnight stays and 3 meals per day are served to those persons who need to stay for a longer period of time.

General Guarding:

BASAS deploys its own security officers at the Inad facility at Johannesburg International Airport. BASAS also has well trained security officers deployed at the cargo section at Johannesburg International Airport. Both these operations are 24 hour 7 days a week operations.
